UPDATE/UPGRADE OF THE ENERGY STRATEGY

MINISTRY OR
ECONOMY, LABOUR AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP HAS LAUNCHED A PUBLIC CONSULTATION
ON ENERGY STRATEGY OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA
On the 10th of November 2008, Mr. Damir
Polančec, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Labour and
Entrepreneurship has introduced Energy Strategy Green Paper of the
Republic of Croatia. This has launched a public consultation on this
important document. The public consultation on the proposal is opened
for review and public comment during a 30-day period.

Energy Strategy is a basic document of the Energy Act with the purpose to
define energy policy and future plans for energy development of the
Republic of Croatia. Croatian Parliament adopts the Strategy proposed by
the Croatian Government for the period of ten years. Based on the
adopted strategy the Government will create the Energy Strategy
Implementation Programme for the four-year period.
PROJECT SUMMARY
Ministry or Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship in
cooperation with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have
initiated project “Update/Upgrade of the Energy Strategy of the Republic
of Croatia and the Energy Strategy Implementation Programme. According
to public tender, the drafting of the Project was entrusted to the
Consortium as follows: EKONERG – Energy and Environmental Protection
Institute, FER - Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing,
University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum
Engineering, University of Zagreb, The Institute of Economics, Zagreb,
AF Group (Sweden) and IPA Energy+Water Consulting (Great Britain). The
Consortium Project Manager is Mr. Sc. Zdravko Mužek from EKONERG and
Deputy Project Manager is prof.dr.Sc. Slavko Krajcar.
